When people with big ideas and high quality standards come together, they create spaces that are more than just workplaces. This is the case with the new headquarters of Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen—a project that demonstrates how partnership-based collaboration can lead to well-thought-out, long-lasting, and sustainable results.
The relationship between interior designers 4d raumwerk and Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen dates back to 2020. After the successful furnishing of the branch office in Ohligs, the exchange continued—and when the new headquarters building was due to be constructed, it quickly became clear that this successful collaboration should be continued. The vision: to develop a modern, resilient working environment that can be flexibly adapted to different activities and harmonizes with the architecture.
From sampling to detailed planning, communication was close and solution-oriented. The entire project was supported by the trusting cooperation between the team, the architects, and the Sparkasse managers. 4d raumwerk took on the planning and implementation of the loose furniture—from workstations and meeting rooms to the company restaurant and meeting points. WINI was chosen for the tables and storage furniture. The decisive factors were quality, workmanship, and the high degree of flexibility with which WINI furniture can be adapted to special requirements. This is clearly visible in a specially developed solution: a horizontal cable duct for the desks, which was designed specifically for the requirements of the Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen.
"WINI was able to respond very well to special solutions. We were impressed by the quality and workmanship."
In keeping with the concept, the furniture has a clean titanium white finish. The WINEA X rear desk panel with timeless "Tallow" fabric covering matches this perfectly. The WINEA STARTUP 2.0 desks were supplied with a special cut-out at the rear edge. This cut-out supports professional cable management and meets the individual requirements of the Sparkasse. For personal and shared storage space, 4d raumwerk opted for WINEA MAXX cabinets, including some with plant shelves. These brighten up the working environment and have a positive effect on the room. Additional WINEA MAXX cabinets and shelves were also used to provide extra storage space, structure, and visual calm in the various areas.
Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen attaches great importance to quality, sustainability, and user-friendliness—values that WINI also shares. The fact that employees were involved in the process at an early stage underlines this holistic approach: they were able to follow the progress via a construction diary, and each person received their own hot box for their personal belongings when they moved. A tangible sign of appreciation and a culture of change.
The Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen project stands for active partnership, high design quality, and tailor-made solutions. Close collaboration between 4d raumwerk, WINI, the architects, and Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen has resulted in a forward-looking working environment—open, functional, and people-oriented. Or, as Tim Przybyla sums it up: "The project was approached as a partnership from the very beginning. We all worked together to achieve a successful result.
